...when we don't understand someone due to a language barrier, we tend to just nod our heads and say: "yes." That head nod helped me acquire not only a pedicure but a MANICURE I hadn't planned on getting today. Whoops. Glad I didn't agree to some weird shenanigans.
On the upside: My feet AND hands are now in tip-top shape.

{and in case you are wondering, my new Asian friends at the Springville Wal Mart do a great job!}

Good thing they only did manis and pedis. Can you imagine the damage they could do elsewhere all while you're nodding yes? You coulda had a sweet tat or wound up with something pierced.
But having seen them via my phone, they do look really cute.
Your language barrier nod turned out OK. My husband almost had a most unfortunate one. He was in Indonesia for work and was all excited about a cheap massage. At the end the girl kept asking him something, but he didn't understand and let's just say he almost got his very own MAN-a-cure! He had to stop her. True story.
that is funny... I've never actually had a pedicure.... hmm... maybe I should try it sometime!
Sounds fun. I think someday I'll have to do the Walmart pedicure as well. But probably not Springville.
How much is a Walmart pedi?
22 bucks. Always a low price. Always.
i go to the Vietnamese gals by the albertsons....
i love it when they slap the back of my calves.
I've never had a pedicure either! Note to self: don't just nod my head and say yes.
Sometimes just saying yes really can get you in trouble.
I think they use it to their advantage. Smart girls...but we can't complain, right. :)
I have never had a manicure but I LOVE pedicures!! My little Asian friends at Y2K give me a full spa pedicure for $20.00. Which reminds me that I need one REALLY bad!!
I've done that too!
I have never had a mani or a pedi...but I would love to have one.
A mani and pedi is the best!!!
But walmart? I'm surprised. I would go there if the dtores in my area did it.
At least yes didn't mean getting waxed as well..that is where I draw the line..can you say freaking ouch!!!
Remember that Seinfeld episode when the salon girls all talk about Elaine in their jibberish while she is SITTING RIGHT THERE?
I think of that every time I go get "done"
Will I get to see these lovely works of art tonight by chance?? PLEASE?????
I agree with Melissa. I totally feel like they are talking about me.
I should get over that.
Thanks for a chuckle! I do this all of the time, and I guess I should probably start watching myself a lil' better!
This is why I only get manis an pedis at places with English speaking chicks. Although, the Asians do a much better job. And frankly, the fact that they don't speak my language (or so they PRETEND), just makes it that much easier for me to imagine them as my servant who I would NEVER bother making small talk with.
Which is what I end up doing with the other chicks.
And I can think of 9 million places I'd rather go to relax before I went to Wal-Mart. Just sayin'...
Your piggies were very lovely, though.
